Daily Harvest, the super buzzy startup known for its frozen smoothie delivery, is expanding—and it’s coming after your dinner plans. The life-hack specialist sends cups with frozen pre-chopped smoothie ingredients inside, so all you have to do is add liquid and blend. And now, it’s applying the same formula to new offerings—this time starring soup.
Founder Rachel Drori knew she was on to something with the positive response to the brand’s smoothie biz (Daily Harvest now offers 14 flavors that you can choose yourself, including blueberry hemp and the number-one crowd-pleaser, mint and cacao). But it turns out, she’s got big plans for your freezer.
All of Daily Harvest’s organic recipes—for both smoothies and soups—are created by a team of chefs and nutritionists, and are packed with vegan, gluten-free, and Paleo-friendly superfoods (AKA, all those things that are expensive and sometimes tricky to get your hands on yourself, like adaptogenic mushrooms and sea buckthorn berries).
Each individual-sized cup lists all the ingredients in bold print (so you know there’s no random additives), and is packed with farm-sourced produce that’s picked at its nutritional peak. Subscriptions start at $48 a week for six cups (mix and match smoothies and soups), which means you get half a dozen healthy meals for $8 a pop. (Score!)

Carrot + Coconut Energize Soup
With a subscription, you get an ice-packed box mailed to your location of choice (bonus: the cute packaging comes with a bunch of magnets, including one proclaiming #freezergoals).
Making the soup is insanely easy—you just fill your cup of choice to the top with liquid (you can always use water, but Daily Harvest also recommends coconut milk or broth depending on the recipe). Then heat it all up in a pot or microwave for three to five minutes.
This warming, curry-style soup is chock full of veggies (spinach, cauliflower, and bell pepper all make an appearance) and serious health aids like anti-inflammatory ginger and reported immunity-booster astragalus root. Basically, it’s like a super-powered version of that stuff you order from the Thai place down the street (and tastes just as good).
