Based in South Korea, design studio HATTERN has created the ‘ZERO PER PROJECT’ project, where they aim to produce as little waste as possible during the making of their products.
As part of this eco-friendly project, the HATTERN team has designed the ZERO PER STOOL, which incorporates the scrap wood pieces produced during the making of the stool’s legs into the stool’s seat.
The wooden cut-offs are held together by resin—the combination of the two very different materials creates a gorgeous effect, allowing users to appreciate the one-of-a-kind artwork on each piece.
The wood scraps that are too small to be used in the stool are used to make coasters instead—this means that “the waste produced from the product is reduced to almost 0%”.
