This Prefab House with a Lush Green Roof was Built in Six Weeks

With a construction time of just 6 weeks, ArchiBlox were able to create this two bedroom prefab home in Australia.

The home, which was prefabricated offsite, is wrapped in FSC certified external blackbutt hardwood timber milled from sustainable forestry methods.

The house has a living green roof that minimizes rainwater runoff and solar penetration. The green roof also acts as a thermal mass. The front porch wraps around to the back of the home that overlooks the beach and ocean below,

Inside, the living room features custom built cabinetry that combines shelving, storage and a desk.

The dark blue kitchen is brightened up with white countertops and colorful pops of orange.

In the bathroom, a large window provides an uninterrupted view of the ocean and beach below.

Of course, with any house this close to a beach in Australia, there’s always a spot for surfboards.
