Thanks to Simon Frambach your light can now settle in the most unusual of places: in a large vase, in your arms, between your legs… anywhere. The German product designer just launched Soft Light, “a soft and flexible lamp made of foamed polyurethane.”
Based in the city of Kassel, in central Germany, the 26-year-old explained on his site:
“The idea of designing a lamp, that is altered completely in its functionality only through its untypical and odd surface has been the first point of interest for me.
To me it is fascinating how one little alteration (the softness) can really change the whole concept of a product that surrounds us.”
Basically, the soft lamp is like a luminescent cat that doesn’t move and won’t need to be fed. We, however, do not advise buying it for your children for Christmas. It seems even more addictive than the usual soft-glow night light and one day or another, they will have to face the darkness.
